On this day, the accounts for the *Financial Year 2021- 2022 and 2022-2023* will be presented along with the Secretary Report for the year *2022-2023*.
The accounts will be available for viewing by the members on *31st August and 1st September, 2023 from 7 pm to 9 pm* in the School
All members are invited to inspect the accounts and mail their queries, if any to *info@dbpc.org by 2nd September, 2023 5 pm* which will be answered on the day of the AGM.
*Bosco Cares will begin from 10 AM* and we will be having the BMD machines this time, courtesy Dr. Anirban similar to the Osteoporosis Camp. Please spread the word around so more people can benefit from the services rendered by our doctors.
*Bosco on Wheels will begin from 10.30 AM* and come and be a part of it to experience the joy of seeing the smiles on the faces of people rendered by this deed.

NOTICE REGARDING ELECTION TO ALL MEMBERS OF THE ASSOCIATION As per resolution adopted at the committee meeting on 3rd September 2017, notice is hereby given for holding of the GENERAL ELECTIONS to form a new Unit Committee & council for the years 2018 – 2021 to be held in School premises on Sunday, 03rd December 2017. The Schedule & Rules and Regulation for Elections to form will be as follows: 1. All relevant portions of the Statutes of the Don Bosco Past Pupils Federation for Units as circulated by our National Federation are given with this notice for your ready reference. This Election will be held in the spirit of the guidelines laid down in these Statutes. 2. The Election process will be conducted by an ELECTORAL COMMISSION, which has been formed with the following persons as members: • Rev. Fr Bikash Mondal sdb: Unit Delegate • Mr. Noman T.Vadnagarwala: Outgoing Unit President • Rev Fr Anand Raj sdb: Bursar DBPC All decisions of this Electoral Commission will be final & binding for this Election. This commission reserves the right to issue guidelines, clarifications and modifications from time to time regarding the elections. No discussions in this regard will be entertained. 3. Number of members to be elected for the new Committee and Council: 11(eleven). The newly elected Unit Committee and Council will hold office till next elections. 4. Date of Election: 03rd December 2017, Sunday. Nomination Forms Available from (In Person) : 28th October 2017 to 30th October 2017 between 8.30AM & 10.30AM at school. Filing of Nominations (In Person): 4th November 2017 to 6th November between 8.30AM & 10.30AM Date for Withdrawal of Nominations (In Person): 12th November 2017 between 8.30AM & 9.30AM Announcement of final list of candidates: 15th November 2017 at 8.00AM. 5. Elections will be held on the announced date at the School Premises from 9.30AM to 11.30AM. Results will follow the same day. 6. All announcements will be posted on the notice board situated in the School lobby. 7. Members wanting to contest the elections will have to submit their candidature in the required nomination form, where information will be required about the following: Name, Address, Telephone no., Mobile no., Fax, E-mail, Date of Birth & age, Batch, Membership type, Membership no. etc. Each nomination form will have to be, signed by the candidate and countersigned by a proposer & a seconder, for whom the same above details will be required. 8. The cut off date for eligibility to participate in this election is 3rd April, 2017. Meaning only those members who have enrolled & paid the required subscription on or before 3rd April 2017, are eligible to contest the elections, vote in the election and countersign as proposer and a seconder. For Annual Members, the eligibility criteria will also include an uninterrupted continuation of membership till the date of the elections. 9. One valid member, as defined in Rule 8 above, can sign on only one nomination form – as a candidate, or as a proposer, or as a seconder. If any member is found to have signed more than one nomination form, then all such nomination form/s so signed will be considered invalid. 10. There is no form for withdrawal of nomination. A letter on plain paper signed by the Candidate and countersigned by the Original Proposer & Seconder will have to be submitted by himself, in person, on the date and the time specified for this activity in Rule 4. 11. In the final list of eligible candidates to be announced on 15th November 2017, if there are exactly 11(eleven) or less than 11, all these candidates will be declared elected uncontested on 03rd December 2017. If there are more than eleven names, election by secret ballot will be held on 03rd December 2017 to decide which eleven will form the Unit Committee & Council. 12. All members wanting to exercise their voting rights on 03rd December 2017 will have to produce their Identity cards to collect their ballot paper at the venue. UNIT COMMITTEE & COUNCIL: a) The unit committee is made up of the Delegate, the President, the Vice President (Senior), the Vice President (GEX) for young past pupils, the Secretary & the Treasurer. b) The elected members after the AGM meet together with the Delegate to elect from among themselves the committee as stated in 6(a) above. c) The committee, if need be, may co-opt other past pupils. d) The Quorum is one more than half the elected members. e) The committee shall meet at least once a month. 7. ELECTIONS: a) For the sake of regularity, all units shall have their elections at any time during the leap year, either before or after the Asia Australia Congress. b) The election or the members of the unit council is the privilege of the members of the general assembly. c) Only registered members shall have the right to vote at the election. d) Members enrolled less than six months prior to the elections shall not have the right to vote but may be present at the General Assembly. e) the council and the Electoral Commission shall not be responsible if a member so enrolled falls within the six months prior to the date of elections. Possible ways of conducting the elections: The Electoral commission will call for nominations from the members present at the General Assembly and present at the General Assembly and fix the number required for the unit council. Each nomination should be proposed by a registered member and seconded by another such member. The unit Council will call for nominations from the registered members about a month before the AGM and fix the number of members to be elected to the new council. Thereafter, the Electoral Commission takes over the election process. 9. ELECTORAL COMMISSION: i) The Electoral Commission will consist of the Unit Delegate, the outgoing President and Secretary, or may include & appoint any other person capable of such duties as decided by the council or committee. The delegate is a compulsory member of the Electoral Commission. The Provincial Federation may be contacted for any assistance or guidance. ii) The Electoral Commission has the right to reject a member's nomination to the election if he is found to be of a bad character or unworthy a being elected on various grounds at the discretion of the electoral commission. The decision of the electoral commission in this regard will be final and shall not be questioned. iii) The Electoral Commission shall ensure that members filing their nomination are registered, active, enthusiastic & are willing to spare time energy for the unit, if elected: and all this in the spirit of Don Bosco. iv) The Electoral Commission shall record file all correspondence, minutes, nominations related to the elections in a proper order and shall carry out the procedures for the elections in an organised form, including setting of last date for filing nomination. v) The number of the members to be elected to the new council will be decided by the old council based on their past experience. No change in this number will be entertained once election process has communed. vi) The Electoral Commission will ensure that the members are well informed about the elections to be held at the coming General Assembly, a minimum of 45 days in advance. vii) The Electoral Commission will once again go through the procedures of the elections before it commencement at the General Assembly for the sake of information only. No suggestions or alterations will be entertained from the general assembly other than from the electoral commission itself, which is final authority on all matters related to elections. viii) Immediately after the new council is elected, the electoral commission signs off and hand over all file paper, minutes etc., related to the elections to the Unit Delegate. ix) The Unit Delegate will meet the new council after the General Assembly either immediately or on another convenient date but not later than 15 days from the date of the general assembly to elect the unit committee as per article 6(a) above. Date :: 16th July 2017, Sunday Venue :: Assembly Hall As you are well aware that all donations to charity make a difference, whether they consist of money, clothing or simply a couple of hours spent volunteering. However, nothing is comparable to the donation of human blood. Inspite of the remarkable achievements of medical science today, there is no factory that manufactures blood. It is only in human beings that human blood is made. Hence, voluntary donation is the only way of accumulating blood and storing it in safe storages to meet the emergency requirements of saving lives. The average amount of blood present in an adult is 4-5 litres or about 8% of the body weight, out of which only 350 ml of blood is drawn from a donor at a time and this donated blood is recuperated within 21 days. We had made it a special event for the ISC 1990 Batch as all Past Pupils of the ISC 1990 Batch were felicitated on that day as it was their 25th year of leaving school. This time the Parents were also invited by the Alumni and we had a huge turnout and entry had to be restricted. Needless to say, the event was a runaway hit. The surplus generated by this event will go a long way in helping the social projects undertaken by our Alumni. The Alumni is very thankful to our Alumni Committee Member Mr. Vineet Arora who had organised the complimentary fireworks for us. Only if the Donor passed the Hepatitis test would he/ she be eligible to donate blood. Further it announces and notifies all members that elections, as stipulated in article 19,20 and 21 of the statues for a New Alumni Committee of the Unit, for the period 2014-2018, will be held on Sunday, 16th February 2014, at Don Bosco School, Park Circus, Kolkata – 700 017.
The existing Committee had met on 22nd December 2013 and has decided and approved the following:

Ø That 11 (Eleven) candidates will be elected to the Executive Committee. The newly elected candidates will meet immediately and elect candidates for the post of President, Vice President (Senior), Vice President (GEX) Secretary and Treasurer from amongst themselves. Ø That nomination papers for participating in the process would be made available from the school reception on 14th January 2014. The form will be issued to the aspirant himself on production of his Membership card, between 9 AM and 12 noon. Ø That filing of nomination paper will be arranged on the 20th and 21th January 2014 between 10 AM to 12 Noon. All aspiring candidates should carry their membership cards and come personally to file their nomination. Nominations should be submitted to Rev.Fr.Joseph Pathickal sdb. Nomination can be withdrawn on a written request personally handed over to Our Delegate between 10 AM to 12 noon on 27th January 2014. Ø That final list of candidates will be displayed on 30th January 2014 on the School Notice Board. Ø That election for the New Executive Committee will be held at Don Bosco School Park Circus, 23 Darga Road, Kolkata – 700 017 on 16th February 2014 between 10 AM and 1 PM. The process of counting the ballot will follow and results declared by The Election Commission. Ø That the electorate will comprise members who have been enrolled as members six months before the date of the election notification i.e. enrolled before 23.06.2013. They will carry their respective membership card when they come to exercise their franchise. Ø That the electorate will be required to select by ticking eleven or less candidates on the ballot paper issued to him for the purpose. Selecting more than eleven candidates in a ballot will render that ballot paper invalid. Ø That the existing Committee and the office bearers will hand over all documents, properties, accounts books, audited balance sheets and any other belonging of the alumni unit in their procession to the incoming committee on the day of the election itself together with a detailed list of the items handed over and obtain a receipt from the incoming office bearers . Further the outgoing committee will assist the new office bearers in getting the accounts for financial year 2013-2014 audited and presented in AGM by 30th April 2014. Ø That even though the elections have been announced the existing committee shall execute the two pre decided programmes i.e. 1) The Annual Re union Dinner on 22.01.2014 and 2) Annual General Meeting for the Financial Year 2012-2013 on 02.02.2014. This was held in the campus of Don Bosco Ashalayam, Bhattanagar, Howrah. It was a very memorable event for all of us members who were there. Date :: 13th January 2013, Sunday Venue :: Don Bosco Park Circus Don Bosco Alumni Park Circus Unit (INC) and The Don Bosco Night School Alumni Unit had organised "DRISHTI" the Annual Eye Camp for the underprivileged people of the area. Date :: 16th August 2012, Thursday Venue :: Don Bosco Park Circus 16th August is Don Bosco's Birthday and we celebrate the event by calling it "Bosco Jayanti". This year to celebrate Bosco Jayanti we had organised the distribution of cakes to the entire school consisting of Day school, Night School,Technical Section, ALP Girls, Teaching and Non Teaching Staff of all the departments. In the evening all the Members of the Alumni were invited to attend a Get Together where Bosco Jayanti was celebrated with the Salesians of the House. Date :: 8th July 2012, Sunday Venue :: Assembly Hall, DBPC. We had organised the Annual Blood Donation Camp on 8th July,2012 from 9.00 am onwards.This camp was held in association with the Don Bosco Park Circus Night School Alumni.The camp was conducted by The Lions Club Of Calcutta, Alipore Branch. The Camp was attended by quite a few number of Alumni members.We screened over 65 donors but blood donations were taken from 56 Donors. Around 25 of us visited Don Bosco Ashalayam, Howrah after the General Body Meeting and spent some time with the less fortunate children there. Animation Day
Date :: 1st May 2012, Tuesday Venue :: Don Bosco Park Circus The Provincial Body of the Don Bosco Alumni had organised an Animation Day at Don Bosco School Park Circus on Tue,1st May 2012 from 9.00 am in the morning.This event was being hosted by us (Don Bosco Alumni-Park Circus Unit) and all Members were requested to attend and make it successful. Date :: 20th November 2011, Sunday Venue :: School Grounds The Much awaited Event in the Calendar of Events of our Alumni the Bijoya Diwali Milan on Sunday, 20th November 2011 this year was a runaway hit. The Fireworks were electrifying and the food was stupendous.All the members who had come there with their families thoroughly enjoyed the ambience.There was a Magic show, Games for children and Adults alike. The Lucky Draw Raffle in aid if the Adult Literacy Project proved to be a great hit too with the lucky winners walking away with fabulous prizes like LCD Tv, Digital Camera, Washing Machine and what not. We all accompanied the Relic to Don Bosco Park Circus from the Christ The King Church.The Turnout all through the day was overwhelming to say the least. In fact at times the line for public viewing of the Casket extended till the next block. Date :: 19th June 2010, Saturday Venue :: M.V.Riviera-Luxury Barge Adult Literacy Project Charity Dinner Our Alumni organised, in its maiden venture, a Charity Dinner in aid of the Adult Literacy Project.This was done in association with the U.B.Group.(Courtesy: Our Alumni Member Mr. Alokesh Banerjee) We had arranged for sumptious food, Live Music and Cocktails aboard the M.V.Riviera, a Luxury Barge. The turnout was much more than expected and the Barge was filled to capacity.All present had a Rollicking time and the Event went on to become a memorable success. Date :: 9th May 2010, Sunday Venue :: DBPC Alumni Room Our Unit celebrated the 150th Birth Anniversary of Guru Rabindranath Tagore with a small function where our Rector and Unit Delgate Rev. Fr.
